SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

The immediate health of this planet is dependent on the actions we take right now. We recognise that as a company and as individuals, we must change our behaviours today to ensure a clean livable earth for generations to come. As part of our company's sustainability policy, our Vancouver international sales office has taken the lead by putting in place a "green" procurement and behaviour policy with the following ecological practices:

  • All light bulbs replaced with low wattage compact fluorescent lights.

  • Forced-air gas heating used instead of base board electric.

  • 100% Recycled paper used in the office.

  • 100% Recycled toilet paper used in bathrooms.

  • Phosphate free eco-friendly dishwashing powder used in kitchen.

  • All lights, computers, and heating turned off at night.

  • 100% recycled garbage bags used.

  • All plastics and paper refuse deposited in recycle bins for pick up.

On March 8th, 2006 - Our Melbourne Head Office made a contribution of $1000 Canadian dollars towards the JNF Green the deserts of Israel campaign that will see hundreds of trees planted within the year. As Energlo sales grow, we will continue to make philanthropic donations towards environmental causes as our way of contributing towards a greener planet.

As part of our company's commitment to green house gas emission reduction, we have committed to planting 200 native eucalyptus trees in the city of Ballarat in Country Victoria, Australia in September 2007. These trees grow to a height of some 30-40m and in time will have a positive effect in reducing CO2 , the number one contributor to climate change.

August 2007 - We have spent this year over $10,000 towards the Oak Centre for fabric display swatch folders to be assembled by mentally challenged individuals who are paid for their work.

December 2007 - We have spent $2000 towards tree planting of native species in suburban Victoria as a mean of offsetting our carbon emissions.
